Its Not On You, It's In You

"It's Not On You It's In You!" Part I.

"It's not on you it's in you!" Ever hear that statement? I often chuckle when my 23 year old and my 7 year old talk about "mom that was back in your day!" When I try and drop them little nuggets of wisdom during conversations or teaching them to handle adversity. I always remember being told some one is always watching you. Everybody is looking for somebody to model after wether they admit it or not. I was blessed to have been raised by some women that knew what being a woman was all about. They weren't perfect but what they deposited in my life has helped me grow into the woman I am today. They are resting with The Lord now but who they were will live for generations to come.
I can remember being a teenager and thinking my great aunts possibly couldn't know what they were talking about because they were 60, 70 and 80 plus!
Their words of correction guidance and wisdom still ring loud and clear in my mind when I embark on some of life's challenges or when I am suffering from some of life's choices I've made. Statements like: "your name and your word are all you got!"
"you catch more bees with honey than vinegar!", or
"what's done in the dark comes to the light!", as well as
"ugly is to the bone!" Oh and the one that when I was acting like I didn't have good sense would anger me was,
" that's a shame before God!"
You see at least 3 or 4 of my elder great aunts had to drop out of school in 5th and 8th grade to help their mother on the farm after their father died and helped raise younger siblings which in total were 12, 10 girls and 2 boys.
Despite being what some would consider uneducated formally (school system standards) these women had integrity, wisdom and some core values as well as talents that took them places and has left a legacy like no other. Prov. 6:22 says train up a child in the ways he/she should go and when he is old he won't depart from it. Small deposits grow with interest over time. You see class can't be purchased, grace can't be put on and wisdom has no price. You wonder where I am going with this blog? I will get to it real soon.

About 2 months ago myself and my oldest daughter were riding and we here a song come on the radio. She and I thought it was a spoof or a jingle to a commercial. Low and behold it was a real song so I had to see who sang this song, yep I googled the lyrics! What I read next was troubling. I will share the hook with you the rest you can google and read at your own discretion.

These hoes be twerking for Birkin
Popping coochie for Gucci
Bust it wide for that Prada
Bend it over for Louis

I am sharing the lyrics to reveal what some of our youth and grown women will resort to to look like they have arrived or are in a position of status. See now we are willing to demoralize ourselves and deem ourselves valueless just to appear like we got it or portray a image that is very much false. The way things appear and the way they are is very different! I spoke about my great aunts earlier to just say though they may not have been educated to the standard of most they had some God ingrained values and wisdom. Their statements were made because of experience and knowing the word of God. We see people trying to fix a spiritual problem with material things and believing that these items make them worthy . Things can never cover up the hurt and lack of esteem we have for ourselves. You see the Word of God says this:
Numbers 32:23 NKJV
But if you do not do so, then take note, you have sinned against the LORD; and be sure your sin will find you out. What's really in you will come out when pressure or desires become more than you can suppress. Dont be fooled by the smoke and mirrors trick. Out of the abundances of your heart your mouth speaks.
Matt.12:35 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. It's time to plant more seeds so the we can see more fruit and less leaves. Until part II. Let's focus on Keepin it Royal!
Blessings
